My dad bought this Colorsound Wah+Fuzz+Swell (all chrome, with Tone, Fuzz and Level controls) back in the late 70's or early
80's for his band, I didn't really care much for it when it was passed on to
me in my early guitar playing years, until I messed it up, damaging the wah inductor coil and i don't know what else.
Now I have spent much effort trying to get it back to its
original wah sound and to no success. It seemed to have lost some gain and brittleness.

The only thing that is messed up is the Wah part, Fuzz and Swell remains intact and in very good condition except for the Fuzz pot that crackles when you turn it and looses connection on the process.
Surprisingly the dual pot for the swell and wah, lost its crackling when i sprayed an overflowing amount of WD-40 onto it, since I did it last 1997 it has never crackled ever since. This solved the crackling problem I had in 1995 which I tried to fix that lead me to damage the wah inductor coil, I also suspect the BC184LC transistors may have been damaged but they register fine when I test them.

Well, here's hoping that I can get leads to restoring it to its original wah sound.

Welcome to the forum. From your story, it sounds to me like the inductor is the main suspect. I would try replacing that first and go from there.

Thanks, yeah i think it could very well be the wah inductor coil, problem is I'm not so sure where i can get one of these types... I'm currently in the Philippines, my dad's in France and i don't think he'd be able to get one for me either...

any suggestions?

thank again Smile

Try www.tubesandmore.com , www.diystompboxes.com or www.smallbearelec.com - I believe that they will all do international shipping.
