My Pedal Board Configuration

Here is how I get killer tone out of my vintage amp by combining old and new technologies:

1. Starting from the right and going to the left:
Ernie Ball Volume Pedal, Boss Master Power Supply,
Boss Metal Zone, Boss Compressor, Boss Octave,
Boss Super Chorus and Boss DD-5 Digital Delay
with tap-in delay time.

2. Here is the actual order in which they are connected:
Guitar output to Master Power Supply input. Master Power
Supply to tuner. Then to Metal Zone, Compressor, Octave,
Super Chorus, and DD-5 Digital Delay output to Volume Pedal.
(My volume pedal is the older version,
without the tuner jack) Volume Pedal out to amplifier input.
This allows me to tune without sending a signal to the amp.

I have found this setup to be very versatile and relatively simple.
In the past I have had rack mounted guitar effects units
and found it to be a pain in the butt connecting midi cables
to the foot controller and cables to the amp, etc.
I can get any sound I want to get with this setup.
The distortion sounds very creamy and thick without having to
blow all four walls down.
I can get dreamy delay and a nice warm octave sound.
If I want clean jazz tone, I can just use the Twin Reverb
with no effects and that sounds great, too.
This setup gives me an Al Di Meola kind of tone, which I personally like.

3. Which guitar I use also colors the sound a little, too.
When I use my HRR Strat, it sounds very bright.
When I use my Ibanez, it sounds more like a Les Paul.
